Things are really starting to wind down as we approach the end of the year. Award season is looming close, people are starting to prepare for Christmas, and publishers are pretty much done releasing their most hopeful bangers.
But there are still a few new titles coming up in November! One in particular is not new, but I'm excited for: the deluxe edition of The Will of the Many. I definitely have Opinions about putting BookTubers as quotes on the front + the transition from an intriguingly simple cover to a more painting/scifi style (typically used to market to men and traditionally more distancing for a female demographic), and I'm not alone!
The comments section in the Saga instagram for this announcement echoed all of the above to a high degree. Still, it was one of my favourite reads of 2024 and I'm happy to see it get the deluxe treatment (and I don't mind hiding the annoying dustjacket in my closet because the naked hardcover is still quite nice).
The Teller of Small Fortunes
by Julie Leong
release date: Nov 5
A new cozy fantasy with two equally cute and cozy covers (US | UK). (Also rumors that it could show up in a book box or two). In the style of Monk & Robot or The Singing Hills Cycle, this is a cozy tale about a traveler who deals in small magics + tea and gathers a small band of companions around her-- most importantly including a "slightly magical cat."
I personally haven't been connecting with cozy stories as much lately, so this isn't one I'm planning to pick up. But I know a lot of folks are excited for it! Depending on reviews from friends, I could be swayed to give it a try.
Where the Library Hides
by Isabel Ibañez
release date: Nov 5
A sequel to What the River Knows which was a YA, Egyptian x Latin American Fantasy that came out at the end of last year. I wasn't fully sold on the world or the internal consistency and plot threads, but I did love the Evy x Rick (from The Mummy) inspired relationship and the title of this sequel has me intrigued to wrap up the duology.
The Lotus Empire
by Tasha Suri
release date: Nov 12
Not gonna lie, I absolutely fell in love with The Jasmine Throne when it first came out. There are several interesting magic systems at play, multiple complex political systems, and I loved the integration of religions from the various nations. I'm also a sucker for sentient architecture, so I loved every bit of the temple that we got to see.
I've been holding off on reading the sequel until this conclusion to the trilogy released, so you can bet I'll be reading (or re-reading, as it were) all 3 books in November! Can't wait to tell you guys all my thoughts on the series as a whole.
I am the Dark That Answers When You Call
by Jamison Shea
release date: Nov 12
I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast is Me is not only an 11/10 banger of a title, but was a super solid debut. It's dark academia, but not in the typical ways because the school is in fact a school for ballet. But the students are no less devoted to their craft, literally sacrificing their bodies in an effort to achieve greatness.
I just completed my re-read of the first book and am planning to read the audio ARC of the sequel some time this week. I'd forgotten just how much I love the rage of the first book, and how satisfying it is. Plus that ending left me so intrigued for where the sequel can go!
The Songbird and the Heart of Stone
by Carissa Broadbent
release date: Nov 19
While this is technically book one in a series, it's also a continuation of the Crowns of Nyaxia novels. The first duology deals with one couple in particular (with a novella for the relationship of some side characters). Songbird will continue in the same world, but with a new couple, one of which was a main character in the original series-- Mische.
The Last Hour Between Worlds
by Melissa Caruso
release date: Nov 19
This is an Adult Fantasy for fans of time-travel (and a suspected book box pick 👀). I've been hearing some early reviews saying it has a slow or off-putting start, but a consensus that things start to pick up around the 40% mark. So you might have to stick to this one a little longer in order to get a pay-off. Be advised that there are a lot of discussions related to being a new mother. While we love to see more rep in the genre, that type of main character is not everyone's cuppa. I've been sitting on the ARC of this for months, scared to actually start it because part of me thinks I'm gonna hate it. 😅
There's a mysterious grandfather clock unraveling reality, a sinister villain performing a dark ritual, and a new mother who has to team up with her personal nemesis to save the world.
Servant of Earth
by Sarah Hawley
release date: Nov 19
Not gonna lie, there are a lot of elements in this that are traditionally not my kind of story. It's in a fae realm, it's billed as romantasy, she's a plucky human woman being oppressed by the cruel fae... but look. I'm a simple person. When you tell me "six deadly trials" and "underworld" and also "sentient dagger of mysterious origins" I only have so many defenses, okay? That sounds fuuuuuun.
(please be fun, please be fun, please be fun)

Definitely some picks I'm curious to try out! I'm scared Teller of Small Fortunes will be too cozy for me but at least I have the ARC so I can try it before I spend any money.
