new blog, who dis?
Hi! I'm an avid (borderline obsessive) reader since childhood. When the book hits just right, there are few things that can draw me away. Unfortunately that meant that given the choice between my current read and the required textbook assignments, my read would win every time. So to be a responsible college student, I took a break from reading books for a while.
But in late 2020 I came back with a vengeance.
Since then I've averaged no fewer than 281 (yes, this is incredibly specific, and yes, somehow it happened not once but twice) books read per year. While I'm open to pretty much any genre (except perhaps the rare Historical Fiction), it's truly speculative fiction that has my heart. From sweeping series of Fantasy tomes to short fiction Horror, I love it all!
When not reading (on the rare occasion that happens-- most likely I'm doing an activity while listening to an audiobook) I enjoy going for walks, gardening, cooking, crafting, learning languages, torturing my cats with attention they didn't ask for, and chatting with bookish friends over Discord.
I live in Washington with my British giant and our three adorable furballs who I'm sure will make appearances on this blog from time to time. Let's be friends!
